I've always wanted a grey cardigan so I decided to cut this sweater since I never wear it anyways (it's really tight). But I didn't sew the edges so I really hope it doesn't start falling apart in the washing machine. Hmmm or maybe it might get fringy edges and that would look even better! And the denim bow top is also a super easy diy project (see it here). I don't think i've ever worn so many diy projects in one outfit!
(And this is a submission to the heartifb share your favorite denim look project)

Way to be industrious and make your own cardigan! I think I'll have to try this with my old, clingy sweaters :)

Dude, that it so brilliant! I have a sweater I might have to try that out on, I would have never guessed that this cardigan was a sweater at first, even in the close ups. (And yeah, the frayed edges could look really cool.) I love how the neckline of the cardigan frames the bow on your blouse, you are the master of really easy, gorgeous looking diys. (Hah, I just really like this out in general, the colors are so soft and pretty looking together, gray is one of my favorite colors just because it looks amazing with every color.)
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are so pretty! I've been sort of meh about the cap-toe trend but I love it with the bright teal color and the metallic gold cap, it's really different and striking.
brilliant for sure! and Joyce, you totally rock that chic ensemble. I so love the combo of your light mint pants and dark mint+metallic heels. actually all those light subtle shades look beautiful together. awesome job!

This is my kind of DIY! I'm not very talented with it comes to making things, but I'm pretty sure I could cut a sweater to make a cardigan :) Although maybe not, because honestly, I would never have known this was a DIY cardigan unless you mentionned it... it looks like it came this way! The soft, oceanic shades in this look are just lovely. I especially love your toe cap heels!

ReplyDeleteI hope your cardigan works out for you! The edges may get frayed but yeah I agree that that would be definitely neat. :)

So cute! I love the subdued colors in this outfit. I cut a shirt once to make a cardi but it didn't work so well cuz the material was thin... I'm still obsessed with this shirt and your cute DIY work on it! I want one! And of course, as always your shoes are AMAZING. Do you get most of your shoes from shoedazzle?

If you find it starts fraying, you could also add a binding by sewing grosgrain ribbon to the edge. It could be a parttern or even a gray darker than the sweater. It would be cute too!

Oh such a nice idea to turn the top into a cardi! It looks good with all of the blue tones in your outfit :)
ReplyDeleteAway From Blue
Definitely a clever move! =D Instead of paying for a new cardigan, you just re-use something from the past. I like how you pair it with green. Looks good on you =)
ReplyDeleteHow creative of you!! Unfortunately I am not DIY-minded in the slightest haha. Love the different tones of mint & teal you incorporated into this look though ~ so cute!
