Lately

skater skirt outfit for school
A few days after I came back from Seattle, I went to orientation for college! I was so nervous the days leading up to it because I'm really shy and I thought I would have a hard time putting myself out there, but I was actually able to make a lot of new friends. After the first 30 minutes of being there and talking to people, the fear just went away and now I'm even more excited to start school. (Ahhh move-in day is in a month!)

And Happy National Ice Cream Day! Hahahah I didn't eat any ice cream today, but I did eat ice cream three times yesterday (oops....) So I guess I celebrated national ice cream day eve!

  10. haha, I'm with you there on ice cream day--I had ice cream the day before it, actually, when I was in Nashville with my parents and brother and his girlfriend. We al enjoyed it in the slightly hot day. ;)

  13. I had a very similar experience during my college orientation! I was (and still am) super shy so I thought I'd have zero fun...quite the opposite happened!

  20. It's so exciting to hear about your soon-to-be college experience; it's a nice reminder of the time I spent in college. And I can totally relate because I was shy at first, too. But isn't it nice how open everyone is to making new friends? I had found my best college friends on the very first day I moved into the dorms, and I have no doubt you'll find lifelong friends there, too. Life is fun like that sometimes :)
Anyway, enough of me sounding like an old lady. Your outfit is so smart! I love its simplicity. You look chic as always, Joyce.
A quick question about those sandals - are they comfortable to walk around in for long periods? I've been considering buying that exact pair because I need some comfy summer sandals that won't hurt after walking for a couple hours :) I'd love to get your insight before I take the plunge ;-)

    1. Hi Kym!

I can walk with them for around 3 hours-ish. If I'm walking around in the city (with hills), I can't walk for too long (maybe an hour). But if I'm going shopping at the mall, I can wear them the whole time with no problem (4 hours). They are kind of like flip flops in that they don't really give too much support, but they aren't uncomfy. (As in they don't pinch my toes or ankles). But I still like them since they are so easy to slip on!

    2. I'm glad to hear that! Thank you so much for such a helpful and wonderfully detailed review :) Not pinching toes or ankles is pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. Lack of support I can handle. Blistered or cut up toes and ankles I cannot. ♥ ♥ ♥
